A good story should stand on its own merits without the need for gratuitous blood and gore, overt sexual content, and what we euphemistically call ‘strong language’.
On all these counts, Annie Douglas Lima succeeds completely with her fantasy saga, ‘King of Malorn’.
We are taken on a roller coaster ride through the kingdoms of Malorn and Alasia amidst a web of intrigue, treachery, and at least one coup d’état.
There’s romance, of course, and where would a decent saga be without it?
From one who is not a great reader of fantasy, this book held me throughout and I was delighted to read something that had clearly been edited thoroughly prior to publication.
A very enjoyable book.
